Eyelash extensions?does anyone know of a good place in/around london to get them done?anyone had them?

Dear London 19,

Eyelash extensions are a big commitment. Like acrylic nail extensions you have to pay for the initial extension and then have them filled in as your lashes grow. A full set can cost over 拢100 and you need to maintain them every 6-8 weeks. However, they look really natural as each synthetic fibre lash is bonded to your each of your natural lashes.

Try the Martyn Maxey Salon, 18 Grosvenor Street, Mayfair. Nearest tube Bond Street.

If the commitment of extensions seems too great there are some other lash lengthening alternatives. Talika has a lipocils eyelash conditioning gel, 拢20. Lashes can become brittle and fall-out before they reach their full length, this conditioning gel claims to assist the lashes reach their full potential.

For a more instant boost Mac Fibre Rich Lash, 拢10 is a mascara complete with acrylic fibres which you can wear everyday as you do your usual mascara. The fibres lengthen and thicken the lashes for a dramatic look.

For traditional false lashes 鈥?Shu Uemura shops and counters offer a complimentary application with each purchase and also each time you want to wear your falsies you can take them down to the counter where they will apply them for you free of charge, lashes start from 拢11. Once applied they last for an evening and you can be daring with feather and jewelled lashes, as well as opting for the more subtle full and individual, natural lashes. They have a boutique on Neal Street, 020 7240 7635 and counters in Harvey Nichols.

You can buy single lashes and put them on yourself as the glue is long lasting but any beauty salon should helpEyelash extensions?does anyone know of a good place in/around london to get them done?anyone had them?
You could try jinnylash semi-permenant lashes. they are quite expensive, they last up to 8 weeks, but that depends on your own natural lash growth, as you lose the jinny lashes ,as yours grow out. When these are applied they look alot more natural than others that I have tried..

They are Available at selected salons in and around Central London. For a full list, call (020 8949 6006) or go to

They all hype xtreme lashes are about the best you can get but there expensive and dont last that long and they get in the way when your washing your face as you cant dry your eyes properly.

They do look extremely good when 1st applied.

I had them and although I really liked the way they looked, it was quite expensive to keep up and once they came off (in about 3 weeks) my lashes were in horrible shape. They damage and break off your real lashes. It took several months for my lashes to get as long and full as they were prior to the extensions.
